Our Foundation

About Our Foundation

At our foundation, we are driven by a simple mission — to improve the physical and emotional health of underserved communities in central Ohio. Since our inception, we have granted more than $900,000 to local charities, but we don’t plan to stop there.

Your support helps us expand our impact and reach even more individuals in need across the region.

History
Established July 26, 2007
The COPC Foundation was founded by the COPC Board of Directors, representing over 450 providers across more than 85 medical practices throughout central Ohio. Formed as a donor-advised fund through The Columbus Foundation, our mission is to serve the greater Central Ohio community—home to the patients, physicians, and specialists of COPC.
Goals
Supporting the Underserved
We aim to improve the health and well-being of underserved populations by supporting nonprofit organizations that align with our mission. Our primary focus includes critical needs such as food, shelter, clothing, and access to prescription medications. As funding grows, we plan to expand support to organizations working in disease prevention, treatment, and overall health improvement.
Impact
Focused Giving, Measurable Results
Each year, the COPC Foundation funds charities addressing essential needs in our communities. Past recipients include:

• American Diabetes Association
• March of Dimes
• Faith Mission
• LifeCare Alliance
• The Driven Foundation Lower Lights Community Church
• Community Shelter Board

Through these partnerships, we help bridge gaps in care and bring resources to those who need them most.

How We Make a Difference

Our signature fundraising initiative, Run 4 The Health of It, is the Foundation’s largest annual event and a critical source of support for our mission. Funds raised help us provide grants to health-related charities and programs in our community.

Run 4 the Health of It

Every Labor Day we host a 4 mile run/walk to encourage physical activity and to raise funds for our community. Our Run 4 the Health of It race is a great way to get physically active and have fun with the whole family.

Apply for a Grant or Sponsorship

The COPC Foundation strives to support our community and the nonprofit organizations that further our mission. The application period for the 2025 Spring Grant cycle has closed. Decisions on submitted applications will be announced following the Foundation meeting in late April.
